When sidney Crosby went in and got ready for the game the author fo the book, Gare Joyce, was wondering if it was worth it to travel 1000 miles to see the kid play. That was not the case after the first shift. Sidney had skated as well as anyone. He had played as well as anyone out on the ice and was drawing attention of the other team, the swiss. He was a stand out to people in the crowd, even without scoring a goal. Scouts from many teams were at the game and for most of the players it was their time to prove their worthyness but they didn't seem to mind Crosby's presence. Most of the players were from the CHL. Crosby had been paired up with now Avalanche forward, Wojtek Wolski. Wolski said Crosby makes you pay attention to the puck 100 percent of the time because it could be coming at any time. This shows crosbys ability to be a playmaker
